To John and her children::
She Is Gone
By David Harkins
You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that shell come back
or you can open your eyes and see all shes left.
Your heart can be empty because you cant see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that shes gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what shed want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
My mother, Martha Edgar Berry and Ellen's mother were lifetime friends...my mother loved Mrs. Donovan and received lessons of being a much better Christian from her. She also gives the Donovan family credit for contributing food and toys to the Edgar children as their father was raising 8 children as wife, Katherine , died as a result of a house fire when my mother was 4..
